Elwood's Instagram competition kicked off today, so I thought I might put in a cheeky little entry. The photo has to represent what an 'endless weekend' means to you. I'm not saying I run around Coogee Beach with my best pal Honey D, every weekend, leaving a trail of sparkler memos - but on this particular weekend, that's exactly what we did.

MUM & DAD CIRCA 1979

So for Dad's belated birthday present, I decided to go through all the old photo albums at Mum's house (Dad & Mum are divorced, but still good pals), and scan the old photos, so he too, has a hard copy of all those good memories. I think Mum's been meaning to do it for him for the last 10 years, but never really got around to it. I had SUCH a blast seeing 20-something Mum & Dad peeking out at me from the pages. It sounds weird, but it's really fascinating for me to see them like this, in love, that is. They split when I was pretty young, so I'm glad I have these pictures to remind me that once upon a time they were madly in love. It's kinda like that Good Charlotte song...same year and everything x

PUBLISHED MAY 26, 2011                                                                                                       PUBLISHED JULY 1, 2011
THE URBAN SILHOUETTE                                                                                                      THE ADELAIDE MAGAZINE

The TUS girls and I couldn't help but notice that The Adelaide Magazine's latest shoot looks awfully familiar. On the left are pictures from the shoot I styled for The Urban Silhouette earlier this year. And on the right is, well, the same thing really, but a month later. I was always taught to take it as a compliment, if someone copies - rather than getting angry. That's a very difficult thing to do - as the TUS team and I worked so hard to create something unique. However, I'm definitely working on turning this negative into a positive. So, to the Stylist of 'Winter Warrior', thank you for copying my ideas - I'm very flattered, but please never do it again.

well I think it's fair to say that today was a shit day. So three weeks ago, after saving up for months, I bought my dream lens on eBay. It arrived a week later....with a wobbly butt and a cracked lens. So I sent a firey email to 'JerryN99' and after 3 days of heated argument emails, he finally agreed to refund me. I was sent the return address by PayPal, and posted the lens the next day....however, at the Post Office I didn't want to break my $50 so i didn't register it...idiot. So two weeks later and Jerry still hadn't received the lens. After another few days of vicious scwobbling, it came to light that 'JerryN99' is an idiot, also. He gave me the wrong address - he hadn't lived at that address for over 2 years and somehow 'forgot' to update his PayPal info. Seriously Jerry? So today I spent 2 hours driving around the not-so-posh areas of Adelaide, stopping in at 6 separate Post Offices hunting for the lost lens. No luck. Then I visited the address I'd sent it to, and was greeted with an apartment block crawling with cats. No answer at the door. And I was too scared to ask the neighbours for help, incase I got stabbed. So, I've come to the conclusion that I am now $500 poorer, and I dont like people named Jerry. Moral of the story is: I wont be doing outfit posts for a while, until I save my butt off for another lens. Thank you for listening to me rant, I hope your day was better than mine

Last week on the 24th of June, gay marriage was legalised in New York state - a huge step forward for civil rights in the USA. They sure took their time joining the 21st century - lets hope other governments around the world follow in their footsteps. Congrats New York! x
