I apologise in advance for the rant your about to experience, i hate it when people preach on their blogs, but whatever. I won't do it again, scouts honour.
So I watched a movie called Taking Woodstock a few nights back (highlight was seeing Emile Hirsch completely naked...dancing with a bunch of naked hippies) and it was literally 2 hours straight of thousands of hippies that were not the slightest bit fazed by society - they had the courage to think out loud. They made modern day hippies look like conservative snobs. It's so crazy sad, when we try to epitomise hippies these days, we automatically think of the materialistic -the clothes, the hair, the jewellery, ect. But we never think about their political and spiritual side, which ironically meant the most to them. It was the core and the source of their self expression and overall appearance - which some of us idolise so much. So why is it that we idolise their external, but not their internal? After watching the movie all i wanted to do was jump into the t.v and join the crazy hippies stark naked, dancing with daisies in their hair, and worshipping he sun. And the best part would be no one would give a fuck. It would be the norm. Imagine that. Nuts, but totally free
